These achievements underline Swinburne’s continuing growth in research quality and environmental responsibility, strengthening its reputation as a globally recognized higher education.   Outstanding Performance in the Shanghai Ranking’s 2024   The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects accompanies the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), released each year by ShanghaiRanking. The ShanghaiRanking’s GRAS 2024 ranks more than 1,900 out of 5,000 universities globally in 55 subjects across natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences. The ranking methodology focuses on five major evaluation categories such as world-class faculty, world-class output, high quality research, research impact and international collaboration.  Swinburne University of Technology has achieved strong results in the latest ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2024. This year, two Swinburne subjects ranked in the top 50 worldwide. Automation and Control was a standout performer at rank 13, up from 36 last year, positioning Swinburne as the best in Australia for the subject.  Also in the top 50 was Business Administration, which ranked 24. The subject rose 20 places from last year. These recognitions are also a result of Swinburne’s work in high-impact fields such as engineering, technology, and design, where it continues to push boundaries and produce groundbreaking research to give the best quality for students.   Commitment in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025   The QS Sustainability Rankings describe how institutions are demonstrating a commitment to a more sustainable existence. The ranking encompasses three categories: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance. In 2024, Swinburne University of Technology places a significant underscoring on sustainable research, teaching, and campus operations, making Swinburne’s debut in the top 300 representing a leap of over 300 places for the university, up from 594. SIM Award and Sports & Artistic Award

Current students who have received at least one set of examination results from their undergraduate university partner are now eligible to apply for either one of the following awards: SIM AWARD Granted to outstanding local and international students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated leadership qualities both in and outside the classroom. Sports & Artistic Talent Award Granted to athletes with an impressive track record in sports, or individuals with outstanding artistic talents and good academic results. Value The award is S$15,000 per scholar. The scholarship award will be disbursed as follows; 1st disbursement - at the point of the award and 2nd disbursement - after review of final semester results. Eligibility Criteria Current students who have received at least one set of examination results from their undergraduate university partner. Open to Singapore citizens, permanent residents and international students. Outstanding educational results/ qualifications i.e. Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, IB Diploma or Year 12 equivalent qualifications. Have an impressive community contribution and co-curricular activities involvement record. Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Supporting Documents Applicants are required to submit the following documents in PDF format (scanned and zipped): ● If applicable, all official academic documents (from Secondary to Tertiary Level), in original language with English translation. ● All co-curricular activity records (from Secondary to Tertiary Level) ● Documentary evidence of achievements and awards ● Testimonial(s) from industrial or professional attachments(s), or National Service (if applicable) Additional Information ● Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. ● All shortlisted candidates are required to undergo an interview by the SIM Global Education Scholarships Selection Panel. ● The decision of SIM Global Education is final and we do not enter into any correspondence on the award of the Scholarship (including the reasons for not awarding the Scholarship).
