Undergraduate Programs 

  • Bachelor of Architectural Design: Focuses on architectural principles, including design theory, building materials, digital modeling, urban planning, and construction techniques. 
  • Bachelor of Fine Art, provides 2 specializations: 

○ Art History and Curating: Explores art history across various periods, including the Italian Renaissance and Indigenous Australian art. 

○ Fine Art: Engages students in studio-based learning with mediums such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and digital fabrication.

  • Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours): This program allows Fine Arts students to extend their studies for an additional year, providing an opportunity for in-depth research and further specialization in their chosen area of fine art. 
  • Bachelor of Design, provides 4 specializations: 

Collaborative Design: This course focuses on helping students develop problem-solving skills through teamwork across various challenges. 

Communication Design: This course centers on visual communication, brand identity, and digital media. 

Industrial Design: Concentrates on creating functional and innovative products.

Spatial Design: Combines aspects of interior design, architecture, and urban design to create functional environments. 

Program durations typically range from 3 to 4 years, with intakes in February and July. October intake is available for some courses. Tuition fees vary between AUD 40,300 and AUD 49,800, depending on the program. An IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0, is required for admission. 



Pathway Options 

For students who may not meet direct entry requirements, Monash College offers a Diploma of Art and Design pathway. This program equips students with essential skills in problem-solving, creative thinking, and technical proficiency. Successful completion guarantees entry into the second year of a Monash University Bachelor program. 

Postgraduate Programs

  • Master of Architecture: Advances architectural theory, design practice, and technological innovations, with a focus on sustainable architecture and urban design. 
  • Master of Design, provides 3 specialization: 

Design Research: This specialization is a pathway for students interested in various fields of design, including industrial, spatial, collaborative, communication, and motion design. 

Interaction Design: This specialization focuses on designing contemporary objects, products, and services that engage with interactive, user-focused technologies. It covers areas like health and medical equipment, smart furniture, educational toys, and transport systems. 

Multimedia Design: Students in this specialization will learn to create digital communication experiences for platforms like websites, apps, and interactive screens. The program covers web design, motion graphics, animation, touchscreen interfaces, and digital storytelling. 

  • Master of Fine Art (by Research): Emphasizes research through creative practice in areas such as painting, drawing, and digital imaging. 
  • Master of Transport and Mobility Planning: Focuses on integrating innovation and technology into urban planning to drive positive system changes. 
  • Master of Urban Planning and Design: Combines urban planning theory and design practices to address urban challenges such as sustainability, environmental impacts, and social inclusivity. 

Doctoral research opportunities are also available through the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program, supporting extensive independent research projects.
