Overview 

UTS Academic Excellence International Scholarship was established to attract high performing commencing international students who wish to undertake an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney. 

Who is eligible? 

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria: 

  • Remain an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and 
  • Meet all admission requirements for the selected UTS undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program; and 
  • For undergraduate coursework admission, completed an Australian Year 12 or UTS recognised high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 or an Australian Foundation Studies program, and be admitted to UTS based on this qualification; or 
  • For Honours course admission, completed a UTS recognised bachelor degree and be admitted to UTS based on this qualification; or 
  • For postgraduate coursework admission, the most recently completed and UTS recognised tertiary qualification at an Australian Bachelor degree level or higher or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT Exam) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE General Test) (both tests accepted for admission into UTS Business School programs only), and be admitted to UTS based on this qualification; and ● Commence full-time and on campus (Sydney)[1]; and 
  • Must not: 

○ Be studying a UTS online degree or distance degree; or

○ Complete an approved external articulation or pathway program from an institution outside of Australia; or 

○ Be a recipient of other UTS scholarships or grants or the UTS Alumni Advantage Program for the duration of this Scholarship and be a government sponsored student. 

On campus studies include face-to-face and/or online (remote) learning in all degrees except online degrees and distance mode degrees. 

Selection process 

For undergraduate coursework admission, academic merit in the Australian Year 12 or UTS recognised high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 or an Australian Foundation Studies for entry into the selected UTS Bachelor degree program, or a UTS recognised bachelor’s degree for entry into the selected UTS Honours program. 

For postgraduate coursework admission, academic merit in the most recently completed tertiary qualification at an Australian Bachelor degree level or higher or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT Exam) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE General Test) (both tests accepted for admission into UTS Business School programs only) recognised by UTS for entry into the selected UTS postgraduate coursework program.
